Only a few times in the 1980s were cobaltoan calcites from Dikuluwe found with such a beautiful, neon-pink color. This has this classic color, which is so neon and hot that it looks fake compared to other natural pink minerals. This miniature-sized pair of modified, intergrown crystals has glassy luster and a remarkably gemmy interior which set it apart from other, more dull, specimens. Look edgewise into the largest crystal and you can see the pink coloration richer closer to the surface, which adds a lovely aesthetic to this already very attractive small-miniature. There is even a dark and muted orange fluorescence under SW, which is quite unusual for a cobaltoan calcite. No matter what the habit, these seldom turn up for sale any more and this one is so hot and bright that it can be seen across a room. A spectacular old find, never equaled by other finds of calcite, and with amazing, rich, pink color that catches your eye.
