An exceptional lustrous iridescent crystal grouping of chalcocite without matrix. Collected on August 15, 1996. In great condition. The quality is excellent.The Flambeau Mine near Ladysmith in Rusk County, Wisconsin, was an open pit copper and gold mine that operated from 1993 to 1997. The deposit was a volcanogenic massive sulfide type ore body hosted in Precambrian volcanic rocks. Some of the finest examples of chalcocite known from North America were recovered during it's short operation.
