A very rich and showy small cabinet plate covered with highly lustrous, indigo-blue lazulite crystals beautifully accented with gemmy quartz crystals. There is a long, thick streak of superb, 3 mm to 1.4 cm, rich blue and vitreous, blocky and beautifully complex crystals that are highlighted along the edges, one in particular, with glistening, glassy, transparent quartz crystals to 7 mm. The matrix is a goethite-stained, ironstone matrix. This is excellent quality combination material, with only some minor periphery bruising, from the famed Rapid Creek locality in Canada. These came out in the 1980s through the intrepid travels of Rod Tyson, who went in for weeks at a time by helicopter to this remote wilderness area.
