Witherite on Calcite$2,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This beautiful and balanced witherite miniature from the early 1800s finds at the Alston Moor District in the U.K. showcases a superb duo of crystals on matrix. The main crystal stands commandingly upright and measures 4.2 cm and the sidecar is 3.1 cm in length and both are a lovely, translucent, milky white with a satin luster and both crystals display the typical horizontal striations of witherite. The crystals sit nicely on the sparkling white druse of calcite crystals. The crystals are in excellent condition and the large crystal does have some small gray patches that may matrix related. This is an incredibly well-composed and aesthetic miniature. These English witherites are significant for the species, and such large and isolated crystals are uncommon. Antiques!
