Tucson, Arizona, USAThe association of Cuprite, Dolomite and Malachite seen here in this specimen is a classic from Tsumeb mine, but the cluster of Dolomite crystals is certainly far from usual and at 10 cm in length this is a smaller cabinet sized display piece from that most famous of mines. The cluster of small rhombic Dolomite crystals reaches 4 x 4 cm in extent and forms a prominent feature in the centre of the display surface. Either side of it the surface is made up of aggregates of small glossy deep red-purple Cuprite crystals and small green spherical sprays of Malachite. Ex Hettrich Collection.
