While this benitoite will win no beauty contests for color, gemminess, or luster, it is actually a very interesting and rare style of benitoite crystal from the state gem mine location, with amazing geometry. This style was found long ago, I was told in the 1960s and prior, and features a geometrical triangle shape of a fat, perfect floater crystal with no attachment point, complete all around. It is included with crossite, but is also a complete benitoite of unusual, robust stature.
