This specimen features a perfect cross of bright grass-green vesuvianite, in the rare elongated crystal habit which was made famous in a series of small pockets from this asbestos mine in the 1970s-1980s. Fine thumbnail specimens are usually single crystals, but this is a nicely balanced cluster with shape and form. No damage! It is complete all around. The top crystal is 2.6 cm. Dr. Stephen Smale collection (from a flat of old thumbnails and small miniatures).
