This is a superb miniature of the famous, historic brazilianite from the old 1930s-1940s finds in Brazil and they STILL set the standard, to this day. A century from now, these are still likely to be the best, based on what we have seen from numerous other secondary localities that have come to light (mostly in Brazil, but not all). These brazilianites from the old times have a depth of color, a high luster, and a unique crystal habit that completely differentiates them from more modern, and more numerous, material found in other localities in Brazil. This is a really sharp crystal for the old finds, with saturated color. The elegant perch of albite matrix holds a 3.5 x 3.2 x 2.7 cm crystal perched atop that is complete around back and nicely 3-dimensional. It displays very dramatically as a vertical piece, but it can also display well horizontally depending on personal taste for display - the best kind of specimen, with several angles to display from! Minor muscovite is included in one side of the crystal. Again, the color and luster are superb and near the best you can expect. Fine miniatures of this size and balance, are inorinately rare on the market as they turn up only every few decades as old generational collections are recycled to the market. The quantity that exists in the world is extremely limited and as they turn up, they are usually fairly rapidly taken up into collections again.
