Vesuvianite (Manganoan)
The Jeffrey Mine in Canada is famous for the shockingly purple vesuvianite crystals that, rarely, came out in the 1970s-1980s. This is a miniature featuring a 3 cm crystal, doubly terminated, and deeply colored. The coloration is due to manganese and these purple crystals are unique in the world - for the species and for the overall appearance. They seldom come up for sale. This solid miniature features a single large dramatic crystal on massive vesuvianite matrix, flanked by some smaller crystals as well.
