An unusual cluster of two intergrown spessartine garnet crystals, in complex symmetry, the whole thing a floater (complete all around). While thousands of singles were found at the time, clusters were fewer in the find (well, if they were in good shape). These unusual garnet crystals came out in a surprise, from early 2000s finds on Maasai tribal land in Tanzania that only lasted a few years. This 37-gram crystal cluster is unusually equant, complete, and with consistent coloration. This was a one time find, and harvested from surface with hand and small tools at that time. Material from the top layers was too weathered; and material from lower layers was too embedded in schist and included with ugly rock portions: only a section of the middle of the deposit produced these bright orange jewels which glow when backlit. Now, scarce on the market.
