An unusual specimen of apatite, from an unusual locality - the Dayu area in Jiangxi, China. This area has a major molybdenum mine, and other mines which produce material very very similar to that of Yaogangxian in Hunan. The miners here sell their material to or through friends and family in Hunan's market cities for minerals, thus often confusing the origin and leading to these rare Jiangxi minerals being sold as YGX pieces down the food chain. This is a rare old piece, from the Smale collection. Fluorescent.
