Mineral specimens from San Germán mine at Cerro de Potosí (Cerro Rico) right next to the famous silver-mining city of Potosi in Bolivia are just never seen. This larger specimen, is less of a display piece and more of a scientifically important one. Cerro de Potosí is regarded as one of, if not the, most well-known mining districts in the whole world, silver having been found there during the 16th century which lead to a sudden rush to mine in the area. This specimen is recorded as containing Andorite, but it should be noted that that species has since been divided into Quatrandorite and Senandorite, often with both intergrown within crystals. This species appears as small dark grey glossy crystals dispersed throughout cavities within this larger specimen.
