Featuring on one of our drinks coaster sets, this Indicolite Elbaite tourmaline is a real stunner - a colour sensation. Not surprisingly, this has been our most popular coaster. Free from matrix, the Elbaite form several co-joined parallel short prismatic translucent crystals with aligned flat glassy pinacoid terminations and fine vertical growth lines. Dominantly an intense teal blue, it is the raspberry pink lower portion of one of the crystals that provides the contrast in colour necessary to elevate the aesthetic qualities of this magnificent specimen, but it is its wonderful translucency which allows it to come 'alive' with colour when backlit. It has no recorded repairs and is in superb overall condition, especially its terminations which show a subtly different thin blue cap. Specifically, it is from the famous Água Branca pegmatite in Barra do Salinas District, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand and will add significant 'wow' factor to a display.
