Collector’s EdgeFeatured
While this locality is world famous for Tanzanite, the Merelani Hills of Tanzania are also host to a variety of other gorgeous and colorful minerals. One of the most uncommon are these fantastic soft blue tabular prehnite crystals, which rank amongst my personal favorite to come from this area. While the yellow/green prehnite is commonly seen here, these blue examples are getting harder and harder to find. One of this size is increasingly rare. Also notable is a tanzanite association, which makes up the entire lower right section of the specimen, as pictured. A very very nice example for this rare style of prehnite.
