The remote locality of Rapid Creek in the Yukon is host to some of Canada’s most unique and fascinating mineralogy. This locality, near the northernmost tip of the Yukon, was first discovered in 1959, and is notable for its world-class lazulite, as seen here, and wardite crystals. It is also host to 65+ more mineral species, 8 of which are Type Locality.
