This beautiful amazonite specimen was collected at the Smoky Hawk Mine by the Dorris family in 2015 from the aptly titled “Icon Pocket” which produced some of the world’s finest amazonite specimens. This is a large (7cm) and dramatic crystal, perched on a bed of albite with minor fluorite. Pocket or not, Colorado amazonites are truly icons of the mineral world, and this one is no exception.
