This is a textural masterpiece from Tsumeb mine. A thick, 1 to 1.5 cm crust of banded Aragonite flowstone covers a grey clast of limestone. Internally, as seen at the edges of the specimen, the Aragonite commences as pure white, but gradually transitions to a gorgeous powder blue colour (Cuprian Aragonite) with a beautiful rippled effect upon its surface. This is the sort of specimen I could sit, staring at for hours, such is its intricate detail and wonderful colour. A really beautiful display piece. Ex Weyand collection.
