This is an absolutely splendid small cabinet-sized display specimen of rosetted Calcite aggregates on Dolomite, made all the better by its association with Tsumeb mine. It really is a remarkable piece and is in perfect damage-free condition. A hard grey host rock is covered with small rhombs of Dolomite, themselves encapsulated with pearlescent white Dolomite microcrystals. However, it is the spherical, creamy-white aggregates of small colourless glassy Calcite rhombs which really sets this piece alive. These rounded sprays exceptionally reach 2.5 cm in diameter and are spaced out perfectly upon the Dolomite surface to really stand out. A really distinctive and choice Tsumeb Calcite.
