Iridescent Goethite
This amazingly colorful goethite is from Graves Mountain in Georgia, the same place the great rutile crystals originate. This cabinet piece has abundant, small-scale botryoidal forms on the surface which reflects its purple, green, blue, orange and gold colors in irregular bands across the surface. It's super colorful and certainly stands out in any display. The matrix, which contains abundant, shimmering silvery pink pyrophyllite is laced with brown and multi-colored veinlets of goethite. A great piece and we rarely see this dramatic material available! It was bought from Tim Luck on 11/10/2001 and Tim collected it in 1998. Stunningly beautiful!
