NATIVE Copper
Unknown Owner
This superb miniature crystallized Native Copper comes from the 2008 discovery of an extension to the original Laker Pocket at Eagle Harbor, Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA. This extension was described as a small (1 x 3 foot) pocket containing a few hundred small crystallized Native Copper specimens and one larger mass, but specimens are now rarely seen. This quite distinctive piece is very well-crystallized, with wonderful sharp elongated crystals, all displaying an unusual dull tarnish, but strong orange-copper colour. A very reasonably priced Native Copper for such good provenance and crystal form. Ex David Hardman collection.
