Kombat mine is a famous copper mine in the Grootfontein District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia. Overshadowed by its neighbour - the legendary Tsumeb mine - Kombat mine is only really thought of with regard to some of its super rare species for which it is Type Locality for 16! Remarkably, for a copper mine, crystallized Cuprite specimens are rarely seen. This lovely small miniature specimen is a real treat, featuring two lovely, glossy, deep burgundy-red Cuprite crystals on matrix. One is octahedral in form, with a stepped termination on one end, the other is a more complex octahedron missing one edge where it joins the matrix.
