These pseudomorphs of Cerussite after sharp orthorhombic Anglesite crystals, subsequently coated in very dark chocolate-brown Goethite, are an icon of the famous Broken Hill mines in New South Wales, Australia, but in particular to the Kintore Opencut where they were discovered in 1989. To my knowledge no comparable pseudomorph of Cerussite after Anglesite in such perfect crystals has ever been found elsewhere. This small cabinet specimen is a superb example. The pseudomorphs are sharp and perfectly defined, and form a wonderful surface for display with the largest crystal measuring 1.7 cm in length. One of the crystals on one edge is damaged, losing its tip, and having part of the Goethite layer removed, but this actually allows the internal replacement of Anglesite to Cerussite to be studied which is often not the case.
