Gold from the famous Eagles Nest Mine in California has a look and style, often like bright golden foil, as you see here. But the closer you look, the more crystalline detail the eye can focus on. This is an elongated huge single crystal measuring 6.5 cm, leaping up from a minimal matrix. It is complete all around, front and back, and has a large visual impact because of the height. Stunning, brilliantly sparkling gold from the largest modern crystallized gold find at the famous Eagle's Nest Mine. This spectacular pocket was hit on Valentine's Day of 2024 and took nearly a year to fully extract and prepare specimens. While the pocket produced a number of "killers" of high value, it was notable for the consistent quality spread across price ranges, as reflected in these smaller specimens offered at a relatively affordable price range for fine crystallized California gold.
