A rare and quite prominent Native Gold from Andrarona, Madagascar. Some quite large Gold nuggets have been found in Madagascar, but their level of provenance is usually very vague, perhaps to protect their source. This 25 gram 'nugget' reaches an impressive 4 cm in length and with its very bright golden yellow metallic appearance really stands out. Its texture is quite rough, but not hackly, suggesting that it has either been freed from matrix, or, if it is a nugget, then it hasn't travelled downstream very far from the source rock.
