NATIVE Gold$900.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This very rich small miniature hackly Native Gold with Quartz is from the Malartic Hygrade mine at La Vallée-de-l'Or RCM in Québec, Canada, lying approximately 300 miles north-northwest of Ottawa. Its richness can be gauged by its weight - at 12 grams - a significant part of which is the high density Native Gold. Not only is it rich and showy, but specimens from this mine are rarely seen available for purchase. The mine operated during the 1980s, producing 250,000 ounces of gold from high grade ore underground, and the wider area had previously seen 1.7 million ounces of gold extracted from the 1960s to 1980s at a neighbouring mine working similar geological structures. Unfortunately, grades dropped, forcing its abandonment until, in the early 2000s it was reinvestigated as an openpit operation. This rich specimen is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
