A magnificent and very substantial example of the fabulous Pyrite specimens from one of the many famous and long-closed iron mines of Elba. This piece features an interconnecting group of immense pyritohedral Pyrite crystals (up to a staggering 8.3 centimeters) atop a hefty matrix of tightly interweaving Hematite blades. The Pyrite crystals are complete all around with a strong metallic to mirror luster and rich brassy-yellow color, the latter of which stands out exceptionally well against the Hematite. Despite its darker color, the Hematite has a strong luster that gives it an incredibly bright presentation. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
