The mineralogical diversity of Dalnegorsk is akin to that of a jungle, particularly with its huge breadth of Sulfide species and their habits. Of the many Sphalerite varieties in Dalnegorsk, the very complex ones are especially collectible and interesting. The crystals are vaguely octahedral, if you squint, but are deeply modified by beautiful and complex striations that cascade down the rotund bodies of the crystals. The deep slate grey and nice shiny surfaces of the Sphalerite pair stunningly well with the matrix, which is bristling with milky white, fine Quartz points all around. This specimen comes with a custom acrylic base.
