Spilling over the front side of this specimen are dozens of spectacular, jet-black Andradite Garnets, set against a slope of wonderfully crystallized Feldspar. Reaching up to 2.5 centimeters, the Andradites have a sharp, complex habit, each crystal face pleasantly accented with a nice luster. While harder to spot with the naked eye, the smallest Andradites have transparent orange zoning that surrounds a miniscule black core. In near perfect contrast to the Andradite, the Feldspar crystals have a lighter pinkish-tan color; the smoother side faces of the Feldspar are burnished with a gentle vitreous luster. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
