Isolated atop a cabinet-sized matrix of brilliant white Dolomite are three sizable and well-formed rhombohedral crystals of Cinnabar from Tongren, measuring up to 1.7 centimeters in size. The three crystals are gemmy, lustrous, and have a deep carmine-red color that is even more eye-catching when viewed with backlighting and sharply contrasts the dolomitic matrix. The Dolomite on the top side of the specimen is crystallized into sharp rhombohedrons and spread across a dark grey backdrop of dolostone. Under shortwave UV lighting, the Dolomite fluoresces white and phosphoresces well. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
