This specimen has an extremely well-balanced, three-dimensional composition consisting of bubbly, translucent, sparkling Mimetite crystals and a complementary limonite gossan matrix. The Mimetite crystals have a characteristically intense yellow color, deepening in the larger crystals (up to 1.0 centimeter in diameter), that stands out perfectly against the much darker rust orange-red color of the hosting limonite. This superlative specimen comes from the 1969 pocket, which was widely regarded as containing some of the best and most collectable examples for the species globally. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
