NIKISCHERITE with Vivianite

Unknown Owner
Nikischerite is one of those "one-time find" minerals, not even repeated even within the same mine. Described in 2003 from Huanuni tin mine, Oruro Department, Bolivia this Wermlandite Group mineral occurs in association with Vivianite, Siderite, Pyrite and Cronstedtite. This fine miniature specimen features a single perfect pale lime-green 'sphere' of Nikischerite alongside bladed Vivianite crystals. The ball of Nikischerite is 6 mm in diameter and made up of many microcrystals. It is a really fine rich colour compared with many example from this very limited find. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021). It is mounted on a small acryllic block for display and handling.
