This is a fine specimen from one of the most storied and well known pegmatite districts in Colorado. The pegmatites in the Crystal Peak area of Colorado are known for their gorgeous Amazonite specimens and have also produced spectacular specimens of Goethite from the pegmatite pockets here like this piece. This distinguished piece features one large and two smaller, lustrous bronze-brown, divergent sprays of Goethite with the largest spray having tightly grouped, slender prismatic crystals to 6.5 cm in length and the other two have crystals measuring 5.5 and 4.5 cm, respectively. This is a well composed, hefty, and nicely balanced piece! Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Goethite ps. Kutnohorite (SYP25-17b) and Kutnohorite with Manganoan Calcite (SYP25-17c).
