Gently tapered, this is a fine, well-terminated Mimetite crystal of unusually elongated habit from Tsumeb. A single crystal 2.3 cm tall, it has a high luster and gemmy-to-translucent interior that really serve to enhance the attractive, orange-yellow color. By the termination is a tiny cluster of mm-size, lustrous, white Cerussite crystals. Almost like a carnation in a lapel, this cluster adds a delicate beauty and definite mineral interest to what was already a fine, amber-yellow-colored thumbnail. Unusual to be sure, this is an aesthetic arrangement for this combination, and one that you very seldom find available. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 36573.
