Very large crystal of Calcite disposed on matrix of dark grey limestone. The crystal has a hexagonal shape and a marked zoning, these Calcites are known as "sandwich Calcites". The tabular crystals have a translucent zone sandwiched between two milky white zones. Under long wave UV light this form ofCalcite is highly fluorescent with a beautiful rich orange glow. Excellent Calcite from a new discovery in China. No damage.
