NATIVE Copper
Unknown Owner
This miniature Native Copper is from a well-known, but rare occurrence on the coast south of Oslo in Norway. The Kirkebukta copper prospect is an ancient one, copper having been first discovered there in 1720, but never mined extensively. Although not a visually eye-catching piece, it is a rare locality specimen and is richly invested with thin layers of tarnished Native Copper in Calcite and Basalt. It comes from David Hardman's extensive Native Copper collection.
