The ArkenstoneFeatured
This unusual matrix location specimen for vivianite, is from the ancient Trepča lead and zinc mines in Yugoslavia. It features a 5 cm crystal, doubly terminated, perched on matrix of sulfide ore with siderite. Unusually, it is associated with galena as well. While admittedly dark, the crystal is strongly bright green when strongly backlit. These are old classics, and we do not see them come up for sale often. For what it is, for this style and location, it is a very good example and was long in Steve Smale's suite of European classics for that reason.
