Fluorite with Calcite and Galena$500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A rich, deep purple coloured miniature Fluorite specimen from the famous Blackdene mine near Ireshopeburn, Weardale, Co. Durham in northern England. Forming an aggregate of cubic, and cuboid crystals, the largest of which reaches 6 x 2 x 2 cm. These crystals are dappled glassy to matt on their surface which are made up of slightly stepped faces, rather than smooth. Several of the Fluorite crystals are dusted with a layer of sugary white Calcite crystals and one small Galena crystal. There is some damage to the main crystal, with a chip on the longest edge and one or two of the other crystals have very slightly cleaved corners, but otherwise it displays very nicely with its lovely colour. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 1998.075.
