Copper (unique crystal style)
This gorgeous miniature is a very antique style with perfect patina, and is a complete-all-around miniature. It features a single dominant chevron-like crystal with a unique crystal shape (3.3 x 3.3 x 1.5 cm), perched elegantly atop copper mass. We believe that this apparent crystal may be a cluster composed of two interpenetrating twinned crystals (compressed octahedra) with a modified dodecahedral crystal on the back. Sean was a persnickety copper collector who needed absolute perfection, in shape and patina, combined with 3-D display, to purchase a copper. His collection only had some of the finest in size class. Jim Dufoe collection to the Sean Finneson Copper collection, which was exhibited in Tucson 2022. Published in Mineral Collections in the Pacific Northwest (Mineralogical Record, Sept 2019). This is a premium miniature, just a bit better than most; and such coppers come with a price. Jeff Scovil photo.
