A classic specimen from Iowa, this lightly collected in the 1960s. The specimen exhibits two generations of crystallized calcite, the first a dark brown color that is almost botryoidal in nature. The second generation are sparkling snow white crystals of calcite in groupings to 2.0 cm in size. Very minimal damage present, all of the prominent crystals are in good condition. These used to come from the old coal strip mines in the area. This is fluorescent under longwave ultraviolet light.
