Pyrite, Victoria Mine, Navajun, La Rioja, Spain
Unknown Owner
A near perfect pyrite cube from with mirror luster on this famous locality. Specimen in great condition and nicely centered on matrix, Ex. Sandra Gonzales
Editor's note
Pyrite - also called "fool's gold" - from Spain naturally grows in perfect cubes. It is neither cut nor polished and comes out of the earth exactly as you see here. You can get cheaper specimens with a smaller crystal, damage to the faces or the crystal being on the side of the matrix (base rock) but this is a good specimen for the price and has everything that makes people go "Wow" at pyrite.
