This is a rather large, well formed, fine, single crystal of lustrous, translucent, brownish-red Brookite from Puiva Mount in Russia - where we often see gorgeous Axinites but only rarely find big, beautiful Brookite crystals like this! This is a rather slender, but broad, spearpoint terminated, variegated golden and bronze colored crystal with ever so slight striations parallel to its length. It is a superb specimen from 1980s discoveries here, perhaps early 1990s at latest, which i first handled in the mid 1990s. The faces are well-formed and the edges razor-sharp. There are a couple of small Brookite clusters on each of the broad faces in near parallel growth for great accent. As slender as this crystal is, it has no damage, only the area at the base where it was removed from the matrix. An excellent Brookite from this locality that produced much less quantity and size of crystals, which separates it from other world localities like Pakistan that produces a plethora of these in varying quality. The piece comes with a custom engraved acrylic base. It is a superb Russian origin Brookite, and ranks highly among what was ever found there.
