Hemimorphite
Colorless to slightly gray crystal groupings of lustrous hemimorphite measuring to 0.5 cm in size covering the top of matrix. The backside is covered with crystallized dolomite typical of this mining district. In excellent condition. Hemimorphite was one of the main ore species in the late 1800s and most all material went straight to the crusher, specimens that survive until today are very rare. The specimen comes with a previous antique label from Dr. F Krantz. Brightly fluorescent under both longwave and shortwave ultraviolet light.
