NATIVE Gold nugget

This fine, 44 gram bright metallic Native Gold nugget comes from the historically famous Kanowna Goldfield 25 km northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. This goldfield and the town it supported sprung up in the 1890s and within ten years had a population of 12,000. The goldfield was extremely rich but faded from existence almost as quickly as it rose, with the population declining rapidly after 1914 and the last buildings removed in 1959. This nugget is highly visible and has a hefty feel to it, making for a fine example of Australian gold/Native Gold to display, or handle.
