From a single unusual find at this most famous specimen mine in Mexico circa 2005 (or so), this is a gorgeous powder blue calcite, richly included with aurichalcite. We were lucky to be able to buy nearly the whole pocket at the time in a large deal, and sold them all quickly. This is one of only a very few that have come back to market in nearly 20 years; and I recalled it immediately because it was the only piece we had that showed a complete pocket, a natural context of formation. A single glassy and clear rhombohedron of calcite (2.2 cm) has been colored a rich blue color by fibrous inclusions of aurichalcite. Not only is the matrix itself a pocket of aurichalcite but also when closely examining the calcite, it is possible to see the fibrous aurichalcite crystals preserved inside, thus showing that this is intergrowth, as much or more so than simple inclusions. This pocket has been memorable and those who own them simply have not parted with them, generally. The color is, truly, mesmerizing! Very proud to have this memorable specimen back to share with a new generation of collectors. Also, it will come with a custom made lucite base, included.
