United Verde mine was a historically significant copper-gold-silver mine located at Jerome, Yavapai County, Arizona. Discovered in 1875, production from 1880 to 1930 ran to 1.96 billion lbs (889,000 tons) of copper metal, 1 million ozs of gold and 34.5 million ozs of silver. Despite this level of copper production, specimens of Native Copper from United Verde mine are rarely seen available for sale. This wonderful cabinet specimen from David Hardman's collection (no. 2268) is not only a rarity, but dramatic and attractive too.
