An important example of the very rare gem species painite, with a robust 2.3 cm crystal exposed on a well trimmed matrix. This species is extremely rare in good crystals over 1 cm in this form (most large crystals from a "recent" find of 15 years ago are etched and deformed, in contrast); and this piece has a nice display impact, suitable for any museum or collector.
