A very attractive blue/green combination piece for any mineral, but this is dioptase centered on a matrix of shattuckite and quite unusual in that regard. The perfect sharp central crystal is just about 1.2 cm tall. The largest crystal (in a vertical cluster) is nearly 3 cm top to bottom (although the top, pointing up and away from the viewer, is contacted and not complete atop. The piece is just really large and pretty for a good dioptase, but it is the contrast of green on blue that makes it stand out to the eye. This is from a find of 2022, which we saw come out to the Chinese market at the time - so much Congo and African material goes to China now!
