A huge tanzanite crystal of nearly 1-pound in weight! (395 GRAMS in mass). This is an old piece from an old stash of tanzanites mined and collected by a local dealer family there, and first released to market in about 2012. It speaks for itself, in that it is simply a huge blue dramatic piece of crystallized geometry with stunning impact. It has the richest natural blue color on one axis, combined with purple on the other axis. Undamaged large tanzanites of this size are rare now - and have always been. It is not repaired, although it has a few very very small areas of restoration over a small bit of the top left edge and one spot in back (only visible under UV light). While translucent and in some parts transparent even, it needs good backlighting but if it has that in a case, it really GLOWS with a vibrant saturation due to both the natural color hue itself, as well as the thickness of the crystal. The piece sits well on its own, but also comes with a custom lucite base. Please note that this is an old piece, with a price related to where it has been for a decade and not to modern pricing...it would probably cost as much or more to buy one onsite IF something of this magnitude even comes out again.
