Something you almost never see for sale, for good reasons, are the old original style of Brazilianites from the finds of the 1940s and another discovery later in the early 1970s. If you see other brazilianites on the internet, they look and are yellow or perhaps yellow-green of a lighter hue; but have a much lower degree of saturation of color compared to the older ones. This style remains unique, and came out of one small zone of this mine. Brazilianite is now known in multiple styles and localities in Brazil as well as places like New Hampshire - although those are not much to look at. But nothing since these discoveries has had such robust shape and such intensely color saturated crystals with this shocking electric yellow color. This piece features a large crystal to 5 cm, in a cluster with others and a bit of matrix. It is almost certainly from the 1970s find by Larson and Swoboda, and then passed to the personal collection of German dealer, Helmut Bruckner (who was active at the time). I try to buy every example of this material I see come up in older collections, simply because the color is truly SHOCKING in person. Comes with a custom lucite base.
