This is an elegant slender aggregate of neon green Pyromorphite crystals from the now famous Daoping lend-zinc mine in China. Numerous, long, thin, tapering, vibrant neon green Pyromorphite crystals are stacked in parallel to near parallel growth and some are even in tight, slightly divergent growth. The piece is 3.3 cm tall. The crystals are incredibly lustrous and slightly translucent which makes them glow. Looking down one end or the other one can see that that the entire piece is hollow! Did the Pyromorphite grow on a mineral that was later dissolved or did it just grow that way? Absolutely fascinating! Old material from the early 2000s from the Chinese miniatures suite of Dr. Steve Smale.
